Reflections For The Holiday Season
The holidays are a time of peace, love and harmony. A time when we should open our hearts to others and spread the spiritual virtues that make life worth living. As the holidays approach, let’s remember to love the ones who are close to us and to show compassion for others.
The tragic Columbine incident, the brutal Mark Barton shootings and the untimely death of John F. Kennedy, Jr. remind us of how fragile life really is. We should live every day to the fullest because we never know what day will be our last.
Along with valuing the gift of life, we should also give thanks for all that we have. With the world being a troubled place -hostility and turmoil spanning the globe -we are lucky to live in a democratic country where we are free to live our lives in any way we see fit. We have basic rights that are protected by law and personal freedoms that cannot be denied us. It truly is wonderful to be in America!
Let us not forget this. Let us be grateful for our blessings and not take our incredible fortune for granted. This holiday season should be one of thankfulness and sharing, of love and joy. Happy holidays to you all!
